Borrin Foundation - Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga 2021 Legal Research Internship Award
To provide assistance to Māori students enrolled at a New Zealand tertiary institution to gain research experience, increase their research skills, and progress their programme of study to successful conclusion. The internship is to focus on researching a legal issue of relevance for a Māori community and be aligned with Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga (NPM) research Pae and NPM high level research pātai. The intern shall be supervised by an appropriate team consisting of a NPM legal researcher (supervisor) and a practicing Māori lawyer (mentor).
The award is for Māori students enrolled at a New Zealand tertiary institution in an upper level year of the LLB, LLM or PhD in Law programme of study.
Who can apply
Any NPM legal researcher (supervisor) based at a NPM Partner entity in collaboration with an eligible student. Students who are interested in applying for this award should discuss doing so with a qualifying supervisor.
10 weeks between 6 December 2021 to 28 February 2022. Actual starting and finishing dates will be determined by the supervisor.
Up to $6,500 per award.
