NPM21 Publication Support Grant
This grant is to support Māori researchers employed at a Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga (NPM) partner entity who are in the final stages of their research project to publish and/or disseminate their research findings or value-add to recently published material.
Types of Publication
The types of publication are deliberately diverse and includes but is not limited to, written, electronic, visual, performance and audio forms. Applicants can seek this publication support grant to cover, for example: publication and final editing costs including payment to a publisher; the cost of making an existing or proposed publication ‘Open Access’; payment to a web designer etc. Successful applicants in the past have used this support grant to publish books, journal articles, free online resources, app development, performance of haka, translation of existing work into te reo Māori for publication, to even the creation of a board game.
Applicants must demonstrate how their research and its publication contributes to Indigenous research development and that it is aligned to the NPM research themes and NPM high level research questions.
Applicants are encouraged to follow the application guidelines and requirements carefully, and to ensure the budget is justified and reasonable. Applications will be assessed individually on their own merits.
For Māori researchers employed at NPM partner entities.
Applicants must be prepared to spend their fully allocated budget by 30th June 2021.
Up to a maximum of $20,000 is available per project.
