Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga is once again developing new seed and scope research projects that contribute to our research themes:

- Whai Rawa
- Te Tai Ao
- Mauri ora
- Te Reo me Ngā Tikanga Māori

We are looking to develop and commence projects that contribute to our outcomes and vision, by providing a small contestable fund through our network that will initiate excellent research that has transformative potential.

We support research collaborations between our extensive inter-institutional network of Māori researchers and partners to achieve our collective aspirations.

Within a total investment of $500,000 two categories of projects are available:

  • Kia Tō Kia Tipu; Seeding Excellence – up to $25,000 for no more than one year duration. To seed development, inform research through literature, engagement and collaboration.

  • Kia Ārohi Kia Mārama; Scoping Excellence – up to $60,000 for no more than one year duration. To scope a research project, pilot, investigate approaches, methods, needs and requirements.

All projects must be led by Māori researchers from within NPM's 21 partners, and these projects are expected to be innovative, inspiring, and lead to impact.

Please link to this website page and then download and read the NPM Request for Proposals - Seed and Scoping Projects document for full details.

Submissions close 10 August!
