Applications for the 2017 Fulbright-NPM Scholar Award are now closed. Submissions will open again early in 2018.

The Fulbright-Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga Scholar Award is for a New Zealand academic, artist or professional to lecture and/or conduct research at a US institution in the field of indigenous development. One award valued at up to US$37,500 is granted each year, towards three to five months of lecturing and/or research.

Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga (NPM) is seeking to develop, seed and scope new research that falls within its research themes. We are looking for projects that can contribute to our outcomes and vision, by providing a small contestable fund that will initiate excellent research that has transformative potential. 

We are seeking proposals that support research collaborations between our extensive inter-institutional network of Māori researchers and partners to achieve our collective aspirations. In doing so, we expect projects to be innovative, inspiring, and lead to impact.
