Professor Poia Rewi is currently Chief Executive of Te Mātāwai. He was peviously Dean of Te Tumu (School of Māori, Pacific and Indigenous Studies), the University of Otago. His main areas of research and teaching, and community engagement involve the Māori language, Māori culture, education and performing arts. He is Co-Principal Investigator on the three-year Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga Pae Tawhiti initiative on Te Reo Māori.

Wāhine Ora: Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga New Horizons for Women Trust Research Award 2022
This co-funded research award between Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga (NPM) and New Horizons for Women Trust: Hine Kahukura (NHWT: HK) is for Wāhine Māori researchers. The award aims to support research that benefits Māori women, girls and/or whānau in Aotearoa New Zealand. This award is made annually and is a one-off grant to assist this research and/or living expenses while conducting the research.

Future Pathways Green Paper submission from Te Pūtahitanga collective of Māori scientists and researchers

This response to the issues raised in Te Ara Paerangi Future Pathways green paper comes on behalf of Rauika Māngai, Māori leaders across the 11 National Science Challenges and Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga. Responses were developed through discussions within and across Challenges, and wānanga of kairangahau Māori across the science sector.

Te Pūtahitanga - a nationwide collective of Māori scientists and researchers responded to the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment's (MBIE) Te Ara Paerangi - Future Pathways Green Paper - a multi-year programme focused on the future of New Zealand’s research system. The programme seeks to start an open and wide-ranging conversation on a range of issues facing the research system, how these issues might be addressed, and how to take advantage of emerging opportunities.
