Te Pūtahitanga - a nationwide collective of Māori scientists and researchers responded to the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment's (MBIE) Te Ara Paerangi - Future Pathways Green Paper  - a multi-year programme focused on the future of New Zealand’s research system. The programme seeks to start an open and wide-ranging conversation on a range of issues facing the research system, how these issues might be addressed, and how to take advantage of emerging opportunities.

Te Pūtahitanga came together to shape a collective response to MBIE's Te Ara Paerangi consultation process.

Te Pūtahitanga is a  collective of Māori scientists and researchers working in universities, Crown Research Institutes (CRIs), Te Pūkenga, Independent Research Organisations, Wānanga, businesses, and Not For Profits, across communities and within diverse Māori entities. We encompass all career stages, from senior RSI leaders and managers, to early career researchers (ECRs). Many of us have prior experience of collaboration to progress Māori aspirations for RSI and have deep experience of what works for our communities.
